Georgia at 1:400,000 on a durable, waterproof and tear-resistant map from terraQuest, with two panels providing detailed, contoured and GPS compatible mapping of the Svaneti (1:75,000) and Mount Kazbek (1:50,000) regions of the Caucasus.
Georgia is divided between the two sides of the map. Topography is shown by relief shading derived from satellite imagery, with plenty of names of mountain ranges and peaks with heights. National parks and other protected areas are highlighted. The map shows the country’s road and rail networks, with driving distances marked on main and secondary routes. Interesting locations are prominently highlighted and symbols indicate various other sights. The map also shows internal administrative boundaries, but without indicating the current political status of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. All place names are in the Latin alphabet only. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at 20’ intervals. Map legend includes English.
Two popular trekking regions of the Caucasus Mountains, Svaneti at 1:75,000 and Mount Kazbek at 1:50,000, are shown on mapping with contours at 25m intervals, enhanced by relief shading and colouring for glaciers and forested areas to provide an excellent picture of the topography. Trekking routes are highlighted and symbols indicate bivouac sites, locations with tourist accommodation, etc. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at 1’ intervals.
The map is laminated in a format similar to the old cloth-dissected maps so that sections of it can be easily folded back without damage.
